Starbucks North America head exiting role after 5 months

Starbucks announced that Michael Conway, its North America CEO, would retire after five months in the role.

An 11-year employee of the coffee chain, Conway took on the North America leadership position in April.

Starbucks does not plan to fill the role. Sarah Trilling, the company's North America retail operations head, will report directly to newly appointed CEO Brian Niccol.
