Starbucks filed a patent for a machine that would help baristas make customized drinks faster.
Some customized drinks, linked to viral trends on TikTok, have created a headache for baristas as they are slower to make and easier to get wrong, according to Business Insider.
However, order modifications are big business for Starbucks. The company's president of Starbucks North America, Sara Trilling, has said that extras, such as syrups or sauces, generate $1 billion in sales per year.
