The executive chairman and former CEO of Starbucks is retiring at month's end.
Howard Schultz is credited with helping to build the Seattle-based coffee chain into a global player with 28,000 stores in 77 countries.
Schultz, 64, has been mentioned as a potential Democratic candidate for president. He told The New York Times he will decide whether public service will be next up on his docket.
