Starbucks is in expansion mode, company officials said during an investor presentation on Thursday.
The company expects to open 175 new shops in the United States this year and roughly 400 in 2028, according to The Associated Press.
Chair and CEO Brian Niccol reportedly said there's an opportunity for at least 5,000 new U.S. stores, many of them smaller-format locations that are 20% less expensive to build.
