‘Star Wars’ actress Carrie Fisher dies at 60

Carrie Fisher, the actress, author and screenwriter best known for playing Princess Leia in the “Star Wars” movie franchise, died yesterday morning. She was 60.

Fisher's death came after she suffered a heart attack Friday on a flight from London to Los Angeles.

Fisher most recently appeared in "Star Wars: The Force Awakens." Lucasfilm announced yesterday Fisher had completed her work in an as-yet-untitled eighth episode of the main “Star Wars” saga. It's scheduled for release in December 2017.
