Stanley Black & Decker is cutting roughly 300 jobs in New Britain, Connecticut.
The company is additionally closing a manufacturing facility in the city. The manufacturing center makes single-sided tape measures.
"As a result of a structural decline in demand for single-sided tape measures, we have decided to close our facility in New Britain that predominantly makes these products," said Debora Raymond, vice president of external communications for Stanley Black & Decker, in a statement. "These products are quickly becoming obsolete in the markets we serve."
