The U.S. Postal Service won its bid for the largest-ever increase in stamp prices.
With approval from the Postal Regulatory Commission, the cost of a Forever stamp will rise 10 percent to 55 cents from 50 cents.
Metered letters will climb to 50 cents from 47 cents, though the cost for additional ounces will drop to 15 cents from 21 cents.
