SRC Holdings Corp. President and CEO Jack Stack is one of 18 members named by Gov. Jay Nixon to a task force charged with helping Missouri's automotive industry.

The Automotive Jobs Task Force aims to identify ways state government can help Missouri's automotive industry and other industries that depend on it, according to a news release. The group is asked to:

• Identify state economic policies and legislative enactments that help or hinder the development and retention of high-tech automobile production facilities;

• Evaluate the effectiveness of job-training programs in preparing workers for the future of the automotive industry;

• Recommend legislative and policy solutions to strengthen Missouri's automotive work force;

• Identify opportunities for future innovation and investment in the industry;

• Identify funding sources for implementing any of its recommendations; and

• Issue a report outlining its findings and recommendations.

Stack heads up Springfield-based SRC, which manufactures gasoline and diesel engines for the automotive and off-highway markets.
