St. Louis wealth management firm enters Springfield

St. Louis-based Synergy Wealth Solutions Inc. launched a Springfield office.

Financial adviser Chuck Dow was hired to lead the local operation as its managing director. He said via email the firm's office at the Frisco Building, 3253 E. Chestnut Expressway, opened March 1.

“As we look to grow our firm in our five-state region, we put a big circle around Springfield as a community that we would love to impact and grow with," Synergy CEO Brian Roberts said in an April 20 news release announcing the company's market entry. "The small-business economic growth coupled with amazing Midwest family values is a perfect fit for our Synergy Wealth Solutions value proposition and how we support our clients.”

Synergy manages more than $7 billion in assets companywide, Dow said. He declined to disclose the Springfield office's assets under management as it gets off the ground.

Synergy works with roughly 65,500 clients and 160 financial advisers, according to the release. The company's website lists territories in St. Louis, Springfield, Kansas City, greater Missouri and Illinois.

Dow comes to Synergy from Northwestern Mutual, for which he was a financial adviser for over seven years, according to his LinkedIn profile. Dow in 2018 was among Springfield Business Journal's 40 Under 40 honorees.

"I look forward to seeing our firm grow and support the growth of our community, becoming stronger together," he said in the release.

Synergy's website indicates Dow leads an office of a dozen employees.
