In St. Louis, about $222 million this year, according to St. Louis Regional Chamber data

The St. Louis Business Journal reports the 10 biggest startup funding rounds in 2014. Here’s a glance at the top five:

1. Gainsight, $25 million, a startup founded by St. Louis entrepreneur Jim Eberlin that provides a Software as a Service (SaaS) system for customer intelligence analysis.

2. Splice Machine, $18 million, a big data startup for research and development.

3. NewLeaf Symbiotics, $17 million, a plant science startup.

4. LockerDome, $10 million (and the addition of former Anheuser-Busch President Dave Peacock to its board of advisers), social media startup.

5. Adarza BioSystems, $6.8 million, a life-science startup located in the BioGenerator.
