St. Louis private equity firms acquire KC manufacturer

Two St. Louis-based private equity firms acquired Kansas City manufacturer DIT-MCO International Corp. for an undisclosed amount.

The maker of wire testing systems for aircraft and defense applications, DIT-MCO was purchased by Sage Capital ­and Capital For Business Inc., the latter of which is owned by Commerce Bancshares Inc. of Kansas City.

DIT-MCO Chairman F.L. Thompson died in March and President Richard Thompson is set to retire. Chief Operating Officer John Kusek will become the company’s new president and CEO, according to the Kansas City Business Journal.
