Major League Soccer franchise St. Louis City SC has hired a new head coach.
Olof Mellberg's appointment to the role is pending his receipt of a P-1 visa. Mellberg has coached since 2016, most recently leading Swedish team Brommapojkarna, and he played professionally in the English Premier League.
Former St. Louis City SC head coach Bradley Carnell was fired in July amid the team's disappointing second season in the MLS.
