The St. Louis Cardinals hired a diversity, equity and inclusion consultant, a newly formed role for the team.
Xavier Scruggs, a former Cardinals player, was chosen for the job.
He'll work within the team's baseball operations to advance diversity, equity and inclusion efforts and engage with players on those discussions.
