St. Louis-based Strange Donuts explores franchising

Strange Donuts in St. Louis is opening a Creve Coeur store, its third in the market, and its owner says franchising is the next ingredient in the business plan.

Strange Donuts already has a franchise location in Mexico City, Missouri, and would like to take the brand beyond St. Louis. The first stores opened in Maplewood and Kirkwood.

It's known for its specialty and extravagant doughnuts, like Hurts Donuts in Springfield.
