St. John's Visiting Nurse Association recognized the dedication of its staff and volunteers during National Home Care Week Nov. 25-Dec. 1, according to a release from St. John's.
St. John's VNA offered activities including informational booths at St. John's Regional Health Center, Smith-Glynn-Callaway Medical Building, Breech Regional Medical Center in Leb-anon and Aurora Community Hospital
More than 250 staff members comprise St. John's Visiting Nurse Associa-tion, providing home care services in a 20-county area. VNA services include adult and pediatric home health, hospice, home infusion, in-home services, private duty and home medical equipment.
"Our home care staff includes skilled nurses, home health aides, social workers, respiratory therapists, and physical therapists who go to the home to assist families with a loved one who is unable to do self-care and requires more medical care than families are often qualified to give," said Connie Dester, director of St. John's VNA quality resources.
St. John's VNA in Springfield has branches in Aurora, Lebanon and Mountain View.
