Mike Peters will work to represent Mercy’s interests in Jefferson City in his new position as vice president of Missouri advocacy with the parent company of St. John’s Health System in Springfield, according to a news release.
Peters most recently served as president of central region philanthropy and vice president of public affairs for St. John’s, where he has worked with state and federal officials on health care matters.
Peters joined St. John’s as its director of community relations in 1990, and worked with media relations and advertising in that position. He currently serves on the board of directors of the Missouri Foundation for Health, the Springfield Board of Public Utilities, the Ozarks Area Workforce Investment board and the Community Relations board for the Medical Center for Federal Prisoners, according to the release.
Sallie Hazelrigg, St. John’s Foundation for Community Health vice president, will take on additional responsibilities as interim regional vice president of philanthropy, which serves Springfield, Joplin and Kansas, while a search is conducted to fill Peters' position.[[In-content Ad]]
