St. John's Health System joined the Springfield-Greene County Library District's Consortium of Ozarks Online Libraries Catalog Coolcat to provide a catalog of health information holdings online.
Library patrons can search for publications in the St. John's Community Health Library anywhere they can access the Coolcat Web site at www.coolcat.org, then stop by the St. John's Library, located inside the St. John's Mid-America Cancer Center at 2055 S. Fremont Ave., to pick up the materials.
Patrons also can request an inter-library loan from the public libraries.
St. John's Community Health Library has served patients, family members and the community since 1990. The library's services and resources are directed toward the health consumer and general public to enable them to make informed health decisions and become active participants in their health care.
Coolcat is the first electronic catalog for the St. John's Community Health Library, and it will make the library more accessible to the public.
Other area libraries that have partnered with the Springfield-Greene County Library District on Coolcat include Christian County, Stone County, Webster County and Central Bible College.
