Rob Brodhead’s nine-year run at the helm will officially end Dec. 31, according to a news release.
“It has been a pleasure to get up each morning knowing that I worked for a superb health system,” Brodhead said in the release. “St. John’s is a community treasure, and it is well-positioned to meet the coming challenges.”
Brodhead has more than 35 years of experience in health care management. Before joining St. John’s, he served as president and chief executive officer of Cardinal Health System and Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie, Ind.
“We are appreciative of the strong leadership Rob has provided to St. John’s … and extend our best wishes to him and (wife) Mary in his retirement,” said Kim Day, St. John’s Health System president and CEO.
Jon Swope, president and CEO of Mercy Health System of Kansas, has been named as Brodhead’s successor.
Swope was senior vice president and CEO at St. John’s Hospital before being promoted to lead the Kansas system last year. He will remain in Kansas until his successor is named.
