The $101 million, seven-story tower has had occupants since November. At 350,000 square feet, it adds 110 patient beds to the hospital.
“When construction began three years ago, we couldn’t anticipate how impressive this facility would turn out,” St. John’s Health System President and CEO Kim Day said in a news release. “It truly is the crown jewel of St. John’s Hospital.”
A grand opening will be held 9 a.m.–6 p.m. April 19 at the tower, 1235 E. Cherokee St.
Festivities begin with a dedication ceremony, followed by hospital tours and free food and giveaways. A health fair will take place 10 a.m.–6 p.m. in the Catherine McAuley Conference Center on the tower’s first floor.
Visitors can park in the hospital’s south lot; there will be shuttle service to and from the lot.
