Budzinski was selected after a five-month nationwide search and interview process, and he will replace Kim Day, who was promoted to president and CEO last fall.
Budzinski previously served for 11 years as chief financial officer at Sparrow Health System in Lansing, Mich. Sparrow is an integrated system with a 680-bed tertiary teaching hospital, three smaller hospitals, 100 physicians, 150 residents and a 90,000-member health maintenance organization.
Budzinski has a bachelor of science in accounting and is a certified public accountant. Before joining Sparrow, he was partner-in-charge of Michigan Healthcare and Insurance at Arthur Anderson & Co.
In 1999, Budzinski was recognized as an International Emerging Leader in Healthcare by the American Hospital Association.
