A joint venture between Springfield's SRC Holdings Corp. and United Kingdom-based Hexadex Ltd. is slated to open office space in Missouri State University's downtown eFactory and work with nearby scientists at the school's Jordan Valley Innovation Center.
The 13th tenant in the business incubator at the Robert W. Plaster Center for Free Enterprise and Business Development, Ceramex North America LLC will work with JVIC researchers to develop clean environmental procedures for its remanufacturing vehicle emission systems, according to an MSU news release.
SRC and Lincolnshire, England-based exhaust and emission systems manufacturer Hexadex formed Ceramex North America last month.
SRC Executive Vice President Scott Dalenberg said in a news release Ceramex would remanufacture used emission systems in Monett, with an office at The eFactory incubator.
"This exclusive innovative solution restores the systems to original equipment manufacturer specifications for a fraction of the price of a new replacement emission system, with a 50 percent greater yield than current cleaning systems," Dalenberg said in the release.
Dalenberg could not be reached for additional comment by deadline.
Brewer expansion at JVICAt JVIC last week, local, state and federal officials met for a ribbon-cutting ceremony for Brewer Science Inc.'s recent expansion.
Rolla-based Brewer Science expanded its presence at JVIC earlier this year when it grabbed an additional 4,600 square feet vacated by Bethesda, Md.-based Lockheed Martin Corp. The space added to Brewer's nearly 8,000 square feet in the building, according to
Springfield Business Journal archives.
The expansion enables the company to grow its carbon-based materials and device production, which includes manufacturing new carbon-based electronics and sensor systems. The materials are used to create microdevices for electronics such as tablets, smartphones, digital cameras and TVs, according to a news release.
In attendance at the July 3 event was Brewer Science founder and President Terry Brewer; U.S. Sen. Roy Blunt, R-Mo.; U.S. Rep. Billy Long, R-Mo.; state Sen. Bob Dixon, R-Springfield; state Rep. Charlie Norr, D-Springfield; and MSU President Clif Smart, the release said.
Brewer spokeswoman M. Loretta Wallis could not be reached for comment this morning by deadline.
