SRC subsidiary undergoes name change

A subsidiary of Springfield-based SRC Holdings Corp. has changed its name.

SRC Electrical LLC is now operating as SRC Technologies Group Inc., according to a news release. The change was effective March 5, said Danielle Rapp, SRC marketing and communications manager.

SRC Technologies Group, which operates at 2401 E. Sunshine St., is a remanufacturer of rotating electrical products and electronics, and the name change reflects growth in advanced technology solutions, officials say. The roughly 150-employee company previously operating as SRC Electrical was founded in 1991.

“We’re excited to make the name change official,” said Chris Kleinfeld, general manager of SRC Technologies Group, in the release. “This is an investment in our future and a commitment to the growth and innovation that will keep us growing for years to come.”

The latest name change from SRC Holdings Corp. comes after the company in January combined subsidiaries Global Recovery Corp. and Whole Goods into the newly formed SRC Industrial Corp., according to past reporting.

Chips and batteries
The name change at SRC Technologies Group comes amid a period of growth for the company.

SRC Technologies Group last month was the recipient of a $925,000 grant through the Jordan Valley Innovation Center Advanced Manufacturing Node at Missouri State University. In addition to the work through that grant, the company is adding a new battery lab at its facility, according to the release.

SRC Technologies Group is in the development phase for the grant work awarded as part of JVIC's initiative to shore up the semiconductor industry.

The company plans to use the grant money to buy new equipment, such as advanced CNC machines, laser ablation systems and automated testing tools, in order to reuse microchips, according to the release. The project is slated for completion by mid-2026.

“Once complete, this project will help position SRC Technologies as a leader in sustainable semiconductor supply chains,” said Catherine Crockett, SRC director of business development, in the release.

At the SRC Technologies Group facility, the company this month plans to commission a new battery lab that officials say will allow the business to expand its manufacturing capabilities to include full life-cycle battery management.

“By developing a remanufactured solution, SRC Technologies Group will offer customers an option that preserves more of the original value," said Jeremy Dodd, director of sales and marketing at SRC, in the release.
