SRC recognized by Sports Hall of Fame

Springfield ReManufacturing Corp. was among award recipients yesterday during the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame's annual enshrinement ceremony.

Given to businesses instrumental in sustaining the long-term growth of the Hall of Fame, SRC was selected as the recipient of the 11th John Q. Hammons Founders Award, according to a news release.

In addition, Charlie Gallagher - a past member of the Hall of Fame Board of Trustees and current member of its advisory board who led the John Kadlec Legend fundraising campaign in 2011 - received the organization's first President's Award during the 2013 enshrinement at University Plaza Hotel & Convention Center.

The Hall of Fame, located off of U.S. Highway 65 in Springfield at 3861 E. Stan Musial Drive, inducted 15 individuals, one high school program and one statewide athletic program during the ceremony.

Inductees are:
  • David Eckstein of the St. Louis Cardinals;
  • Mike Sweeney of the Kansas City Royals;
  • Tony Richardson of the Kansas City Chiefs;
  • Kim Anderson, former University of Missouri basketball standout and current University of Central Missouri head basketball coach;
  • former Major League Baseball pitcher Scott Bailes;
  • former Mizzou standout Conrad Hitchler;
  • former Mizzou standout Joe Scott;
  • broadcaster Ron Jacober;
  • professional wrestler Harley Race;
  • Missouri Southern Cross Country and Track and Field Coach Tom Rutledge;
  • volleyball coach Linda Lampkin;
  • former Branson Pirate and MSU basketball star Dale Russell;
  • Dr. Richard Seagrave, for sports medicine work;
  • Tarkio football Coach Dave Palmeiro;
  • Sports entrepreneur Jim Chappell;
  • the Jefferson City track and field program; and
  • Special Olympics Missouri.
