An employee with Springfield ReManufacturing Corp. has been honored by the U.S. Department of Defense for his support of employees who serve in the National Guard and Reserves.

Adam Prier, engineering manager with the SRC Holdings Corp. division that also does business as SRC Heavy Duty, was recognized Dec. 22 with a Patriot Award by the Department of Defense’s Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve, according to a news release. He was nominated by SRC engineer Jeremy Owens, a sergeant first class who is currently assigned as an instructor with the Army Reserve.

"The Patriot Award was created by ESGR to publicly recognize individuals who provide outstanding patriotic support and cooperation to their employees, who like the citizen warriors before them, have answered their nation's call to serve," said Tom Krahenbuhl, ESGR Missouri chair, in the release. "Supportive supervisors are critical to maintaining the strength and readiness of the nation's National Guard and Reserve units."

Prier's LinkedIn profile indicates he's worked at SRC for three years.

The award was presented at SRC's 4727 E. Kearney St. facility, according to the release. Officials reportedly spoke of the importance of providing jobs and employee support for Guard and Reserve members.
