SRC Holdings Corp. has opened a new self-storage business venture as part of the company's $100 million investment initiative announced in 2021.
Enterprise Self Storage, located at 1610 S. Enterprise Ave., opened this week on the rear portion of SRC's East Sunshine Street campus, according to a news release.
“Opening the storage facility helps us to more efficiently utilize our land and diversify our income while meeting the high demand for storage in the Springfield community,” said Dennis Sheppard, SRC Holdings general counsel, in the release. “It’s hard to find storage space, especially in town. We’re trying to fix that.”
Enterprise Self Storage has 300 units of varying sizes with 24/7 video surveillance. Kim Bell, property manager at SRC, added in the release that the new business unit has "already had a lot of reservations from members of the community."
SRC previously disclosed construction plans for the self-storage business as part of roughly $100 million in developments planned by the company, according to past reporting.
