Square opens doors to new STL office

Mobile payments company Square this week formally opened its new office in the St. Louis Cortex innovation district.

Co-founded in 2009 by two St. Louis natives, CEO Jack Dorsey and Jim McKelvey, previously operated a small office with a handful of employees in the city.

While the grand opening at the new spot was held this week, Square moved in last fall. The company already has hired 150 people in St. Louis with plans to employ 200. It marks Square's largest office outside of its San Francisco headquarters.
