SPS Foundation presents $149K to schools

The Foundation for Springfield Public Schools yesterday announced its back-to-school grant awards, with $148,796 going to more than 55 schools and programs within the district.

The funding, which is donated from businesses, organizations and individuals, is earmarked to aid classrooms projects and programs in four areas: innovation, collaboration, engagement and school improvement, according to a news release from the foundation.

“Our volunteers and donors are passionate about our schools, and it is through their support this program is possible,” foundation Executive Director Jana Bachus said in the release.

A full list of award recipients is available on the foundation's website.
