Fort Worth, Texas-based electronics retailer RadioShack Corp. (OTC: RSH) owes Overland Park, Kan.-based wireless communications company Sprint Corp. (NYSE: S) over $6 million, according to RadioShack’s Thursday bankruptcy filing.
The debt – relatively minor considering Sprint’s annual revenues of around $3 billion – is the second largest among unsecured debtors. And RadioShack owes its bank, Wilmington Trust, much more: $329.7 million.
Other telecom businesses listed as unsecured debtors include: Verizon Wireless, $2.85 million; Magic Jack LP, $1.34 million; and Tracfone Wireless Inc., $1.09 million.
The filing follows news that Sprint would gain retail room inside up to 1,750 RadioShack stores – nearly half of the company’s 4,000 locations – in a shared-space agreement.
