Gov. Jay Nixon appointed a retired Springfield music teacher to the Missouri Ethics Commission.
Nancy Hagan, of Springfield, will serve a term ending March 15, 2018, according to a news release.
The commission receives and reviews allegations of conflicts of interest related to public officials and employees, lobbyist reporting laws, personal financial interest reporting laws and campaign finance disclosure laws.
Hagan worked as a music teacher at Springfield Public Schools 1975-2006. She’s been recognized by Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers and received the Disney Hand Teacher Award.
She also ran as a Democrat for state representative in 2008, but lost to incumbent Republican Charlie Denison.
