The Seattle-based restaurant chain with more than 325 locations across the United States and Canada, including six in Missouri, is adding a Springfield location.
The 6,350-square-foot restaurant at 3720 S. Glenstone Ave. is set to open in early 2007, according to company Communications Director Annette Miller.
The company plans to hire more than 100 employees for the Springfield restaurant. Red Robin was founded in 1969 and specializes in gourmet hamburgers and other family food fare.
“Red Robin decided to open in Springfield because it’s a growing community and a great fit for our family-friendly concept,” Miller said.
The Springfield location will actually be the eighth location in Missouri; a restaurant in Dardenne Prairie will open later this year. Other Show-Me State locations are in Chesterfield, Des Peres, Fenton, Independence, O’Fallon and St. Peters.
The new Red Robin will be next to Springfield’s first stand-alone Chick-fil-A, set to open later this year.
Red Robin is traded publicly on the Nasdaq. Shares of the company’s stock (Nasdaq: RRGB) closed Aug. 9 at $34.18, compared to a 52-week range of $33.93-$60.43.
