Springfield state senator accepts committee appointments

Posted online
State Sen. Bob Dixon, R-Springfield, has been appointed by Missouri Senate President Pro Tem Robert Mayer to serve as vice chairman of the Rules, Joint Rules, Resolutions and Ethics Committee and as a member of the Committee on Gubernatorial Appointments.

"I have long advocated for the ideals of liberty, including a responsible government and personal responsibility," Dixon said in a news release. "Sitting on both of these committees will enable me to continue that work."

The Rules, Joint Rules, Resolutions and Ethics Committee makes recommendations to the Senate concerning the rules for the government of the Senate and the ethics and conduct of public officials. Committee members also detail and build bills and amendments for consideration by the Senate, the release said.

The Committee on Gubernatorial Appointment reviews and approves appointments made by the governor.
