The state group responsible for recommending new additions to the National Register of Historic Places is holding its quarterly meeting this morning, and among the current batch of nominees is one Springfield building.
The Missouri Advisory Council on Historic Preservation works with the Department of Natural Resources' State Historic Preservation Office, which administers the National Register of Historic Places program for Missouri.
The council is considering a group of 14 buildings and districts nominated for inclusion on the list, and among the candidates is the former Springfield Grocer Co. warehouse, 323 N. Patton Ave. in Springfield.
The building is owned by Yellow Bonnet LLC and its organizer, real estate developer Craig Wagoner, according to the Greene County Assessor's Office. Wagoner has redeveloped multiple downtown buildings for residential and business use, including the Kresge Building, the Seville Lofts and the Lofts at Jordan Creek.
The former warehouse property has an appraised value of $736,000, according to the assessor's Web site.
The state advisory council meets quarterly to review state property nominations, and approved nominations are forwarded to the Keeper of the National Register in Washington, D.C., for final approval.[[In-content Ad]]
