Missouri gubernatorial candidate and House Minority Floor Leader Crystal Quade, D-Springfield, has sponsored a bill to legalize, regulate and tax video lottery terminals — while allowing cities and counties opportunity to ban the machines.
House Bill 2835 also would legalize sports wagering for all of Missouri. It is one of eight bills that have been filed during the legislature’s 2024 session that would legalize sports betting, video lottery terminals or both.
Meanwhile, the city of Springfield is in a legal battle over a new ordinance that effectively bans video lottery terminals.
