Project description: This new facility expands Springfield Public Works’ street maintenance office, located next door. Randy Dunlap, municipal facilities superintendent and an architect with the city, said the new building will hold offices for city street maintenance staff and meeting rooms for training. It also will house 26 parking bays for the city’s snow plows and salt trucks, and a small welding and fabrication shop. Bolivar-based Shelenhamer Construction is performing the work. Funding for the project comes from the city’s level property tax and eighth-cent transportation tax.
