Springfield judge to retire

Posted online
A Springfield municipal court judge with a 31-year-career with the city is set to retire at the end of May.

Dennis Budd, who started with the city in 1982 as a contract attorney, became assistant city attorney later that year and was named a municipal court judge in 1994, according to a news release.

His retirement is effective May 31, when the city will hold a reception at 2 p.m. at Springfield Municipal Court, 625 N. Benton Ave.

Additionally, Budd is a Missouri Supreme Court appointee to the Municipal Judge Education Committee, has served as truancy court judge and has contributed to the Missouri Bench Book for Municipal Judges.

In a 2007 Springfield Business Journal feature article, Budd mentioned that on his own time, he is an avid comic book fan with a collection of more than 10,000 comic books dating back from the 1940s.[[In-content Ad]]
