Springfield’s lodging industry started the year with $6.4 million in January room sales, an 8 percent increase from January 2015, according to the Springfield Convention & Visitors Bureau’s March newsletter.
January’s occupancy rate improved to 47.4 percent from 45.3 percent.
Other Springfield lodging industry changes in January included:
• a room supply increase to 180,265 from 175,491 in January 2014;
• a room demand boost to 85,494 from 79,570; and
• a slight move upward in daily rates to $74.69 from $74.28.
Dame Chiropractic LLC emerged as the new name of Harshman Chiropractic Clinic LLC with the purchase of the business; Leo Kim added a second venture, Keikeu LLC, to 14 Mill Market; and Mercy Springfield Communities opened its second primary care clinic in Ozark.
