Up against Wyndham's 7,000 hotels worldwide, Springfield’s Ramada Oasis Hotel and Convention Center, 2546 N. Glenstone Ave., garnered the Best Sales Team of the Year award during the Wyndham Revenue Generation Summit in Puerto Rico.
The award is based on a local sales team’s involvement with the Wyndham global sales team, group business revenue, engagement with the franchise, community involvement and creative selling ideas.
“It was a complete shock that we won this prestigious award,” Oasis General Manager Missy Handyside said in a news release. “I was just honored to be nominated and winning was completely unexpected.”
The Ramada Oasis Hotel, the only Ramada hotel in Springfield, houses 173 total guestrooms and 30,000 square feet of meeting space. Branson has two Ramada hotels, with 24 other Wyndham hotels in the Springfield and Branson areas combined.
The Ramada Worldwide hotel franchise is administered by the Wyndham Hotel Group, which also includes Wyndham Hotels and Resorts, Baymont Inn & Suites, Travelodge, Days Inn, Super 8, Dream Hotels and Knights Inn.

The first southwest Missouri location of EarthWise Pet, a national chain of pet supply stores, opened; Grey Oak Investments LLC relocated; and Hot Bowl by Everyday Thai LLC got its start.
