Holiday Inn Express & Suites, 1117 E. St. Louis St., was given the InterContinental Hotels Group’s Newcomer Award for its overall guest survey satisfaction scores. Since February, the hotel has maintained an overall satisfaction score of 95 percent or higher.
The Newcomer Award is given to the top 15 hotels in the Holiday Inn Express system that have recently opened but have been operating for at least a year. The Springfield hotel, owned and operated by Springfield-based John Q. Hammons Hotels & Resorts LLC, opened in March 2005.
Hammons himself was honored as well, receiving the Kemmons Wilson Service Award for community service.
Hammons Hotels owns and operates 70 hotels, including 12 Holiday Inn properties.[[In-content Ad]]
