Springfield home prices rise slower than Mo., US

Posted online
April gains in Springfield home prices were outpaced by the Missouri and national figures, according to real estate market tracker CoreLogic.

Springfield prices that include distressed sales - which factor short sales and real-estate owned transactions - moved up 3.5 percent in April from the same month a year earlier, according to a news release.

Comparatively, Missouri prices increased 3.8 percent and the U.S. figure rose 6.2 percent.

"The appreciation in home prices over the past year reflects the gathering pace of the recovery in housing in most states and regions in the U.S.," said Anand Nallathambi, president and CEO of CoreLogic, in the release.

For the year ended April 30, 2017, CoreLogic analysts predict a 5.3 percent gain in U.S. home prices.
