Posted online
Springfield home prices, including distressed sales, rose 7.3 percent in July, compared to the same month a year ago, according to the latest data released by Santa Ana, Calif.-based real estate data tracking firm CoreLogic (NYSE: CLGX).

Excluding distressed sales - which comprise short sales and real estate owned transactions - the year-to-year increase registered at 5.9 percent.

Compared to June of this year, July home prices, including distressed sales, moved up 1.4 percent, while prices excluding distressed sales ticked up 0.8 percent, according to CoreLogic.

Nationwide, home prices including distressed sales jumped 12.4 percent from July 2012, the 17th consecutive month of annual increases. Excluding distressed sales, July prices rose 11.4 percent from the same month a year ago. The month-to-month price change in the U.S. increased by roughly 1.75 percent from June.

"Home prices continue to climb across the nation in July, with markets hit hardest during the downturn leading the way," CoreLogic President and CEO Anand Nallathambi said in the release. "Nationally, home prices are now within 18 percent of their peak levels reached in April of 2006."
