Springfield home prices climb 3% in April

Irvine, Calif.-based real estate market tracker CoreLogic (NYSE: CLGX) reported Springfield home prices, including distressed sales, climbed 3.1 percent in April compared to April 2013.

On a month-over-month basis, home prices, including distressed sales, were up 1.2 percent in April compared to March, according to a news release.

The April CoreLogic Home Price Index report found home prices nationwide, including distressed sales, jumped 10.5 percent in April compared to the same month last year, while the month-to-month increase was more mild at 2.1 percent, according to the release.

Missouri home prices were up 6.9 percent in April compared to last year. Including distressed sales, California posted the highest appreciation in home price in April compared to the same month in 2013: 15.6 percent.

Excluding distressed sales, year-over-year prices in Springfield increased 6.4 percent in April compared to April 2013. On a month-over-month basis, excluding distressed sales, the CoreLogic HPI indicates home prices increased by 0.5 percent in April compared to March.

According to the release, CoreLogic projects May home sales to increase 1 percent nationwide compared to April and by 6.3 percent compared to the same month in 2013.
