A Springfield home goods store in business for nearly three decades is liquidating its merchandise leading up to a planned closure.
Owner Brad Warren told Springfield Business Journal that One of a Kind, which operates at 2000 S. Stewart Ave., is expected to close around July 31.
Warren said the closure is being conducted after his husband, One of a Kind lead salesperson John Warren, died in June 2020.
"His loss came in the middle of the pandemic, and now with the present state of the economy I have decided to liquidate," Brad Warren said via email.
The 5,000-square-foot One of a Kind showroom sells solid wood furniture, items built from recycled materials and accessories, said Warren.
"I had approximately $100,000 in inventory at the beginning of my 50% off sale that began last week," he said.
One of a Kind, in the Silver Center, has been in business since 1995.
