While Springfield’s residential January foreclosure rate was flat from December, it declined compared to the same month of 2015, according to real estate market tracker CoreLogic.
In January, the Queen City’s foreclosure rate was 0.44 percent, a dip from 0.48 percent a year earlier, according to a news release.
Missouri’s foreclosure rate dropped to 0.57 percent in January from 0.61 percent in December and 0.7 percent in January 2015. Comparatively, the U.S. rate moved down to 1.15 percent from 1.2 percent in December and 1.48 percent in the same month of 2015.
Springfield’s mortgage delinquency rate - representing home loans at least 90 days past due - fell to 1.8 percent in January from 2.1 percent a year earlier. The Missouri rate dropped to 2.6 percent from 3.2 percent, and the U.S. figure decreased to 3.3 percent from 4.1 percent, according to the release.
For the 12-month period ended Jan. 30,
Missouri recorded 11,302 foreclosures, down from 12,806 a year earlier.
