Springfield hiring company appoints two C-level execs

Posted online

Purpose Connect, a Springfield-based hiring and staffing firm, has appointed two people to C-level roles at the organization.

Usman Wajid and Ariel Morel, both co-founders of Purpose Connect, have been added as chief strategy officer and chief operations officer, respectively, according to a news release.

"This is a significant milestone for Purpose Connect. The addition of a chief strategy officer and chief operations officer to our team provides an effective structure for business growth and customer satisfaction," said Dami Odunewu, CEO and founder, in the release. "This addition brings our team to a total of eight, which includes a leadership team of four co-founders."

Purpose Connect operates software that takes a new approach to hiring by eliminating the resume. The company's website indicates employers can access diverse talent, spend less time hiring and narrow down the list to more qualified candidates.

Wajid, of Kansas City, most recently has worked at Homebase, a startup that develops technology for multifamily real estate. There, he has overseen seven departments and a business model that has increased profits by nearly 28% per deal within six months, according to the release.

Morel has worked as CEO, president and founder of O3 Consulting Group LLC, which works to support historically underrepresented business owners. He lives in Miami Beach, Florida.

Both Wajid and Morel will work remotely.
