The 12,500-square-foot Springfield-Greene County Botanical Center at Nathanael Greene/Close Memorial Park is on pace for an October completion date, according to officials with architecture firm H Design Group LLC. The building is designed to achieve Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design-Silver status and will have a standing-seam metal roof, according to previous Springfield Business Journal coverage. About $3 million of the funding for the center comes from a Greene County sales tax approved by voters in 2006, with the remainder from private funds and city and county support.[[In-content Ad]]
