At 1.2 percent, Springfield area foreclosure rates were roughly flat in April, according to the latest data from Santa Ana, Calif.-based foreclosure information collector CoreLogic Inc. (NYSE: CLGX).
The data for April shows that Springfield foreclosures among outstanding mortgage loans decreased from April 2011, when the foreclosure rate was 1.23 percent. However, the Springfield foreclosure rate was 1.16 percent in March of this year.
Comparatively, the Missouri foreclosure rate in April 2012 was 1.43 percent, while the U.S. rate was 3.47 percent, according to a June 26 news release.
Also during April, 3.55 percent of mortgage loans were 90 days or more delinquent, compared to 3.58 percent in the same month of the prior year. The Missouri delinquency rate was 4.48 percent during April, while the U.S. figure for mortgage loans delinquent by 90 or more days was 7.07 percent.
