Springfield foreclosure rate falls

The Springfield foreclosure rate fell to 0.6 percent in October, a decrease from 0.84 percent in the same month a year ago, according to the latest data from real estate market tracking firm CoreLogic (NYSE: CLGX).

Measured by CoreLogic as the percentage of loans in some stage of the foreclosure process, the Springfield foreclosure rate also dropped from 0.64 percent in September, according to a news release.

During October, the Missouri foreclosure rate dropped to 0.78 percent compared to 1.07 percent in October 2012, and the U.S. rate fell to 2.15 percent from 3.06 percent a year ago.

The Springfield mortgage delinquency rate - a precursor of foreclosures representing mortgage loans 90 days or more delinquent - dropped to 2.43 percent in October, a decrease of 0.63 percentage points from the same month of 2012. In Missouri, the mortgage delinquency rate dropped to 3.43 percent, and the U.S. rate fell to 5.11 percent, the release said.[[In-content Ad]]
