Despite intermittent power outages during the weekend’s freezing rain, the airport remained open and operational, and runways and taxiways were ice-free at all times, according to a statement today from spokesperson Kent Boyd.
American Airlines and cargo carriers, such as UPS and FedEx, continued operating throughout the weekend, while at least Delta/Comair and Northwest canceled flights temporarily.
Though the airport doesn’t anticipate any more flight changes, officials encourage travelers to call the airlines before arriving.
