Springfield Expo Center to host political summit

The Springfield Expo Center will play host July 21 to an Americans for Prosperity - Missouri political summit.

The Defending the American Dream Summit, scheduled 8 a.m.-5 p.m. June 21, will feature headliner Barry Goldwater Jr., a former longtime Republican U.S. congressman, according to the event's sign-up page.

The event, according to OzarksSentinel.com, also will host U.S. Senate candidates Todd Akin, John Brunner and Sarah Steelman, and Missouri gubernatorial candidates Bill Randles, Fred Sauer and Dave Spence. All of the scheduled guests are Republicans.

Registration for the event is available via MissouriDADSummit.Eventbrite.com.

Americans for Prosperity-Missouri is a nonprofit grassroots organization with more than 32,000 activists, according to its Web site.
