Springfield engineering firm conducts acquisition

Springfield-based engineering firm Own Inc. has expanded by acquisition three months after rolling out a rebranding of the firm.

The company announced the purchase of central Missouri firm Central Counties Surveying, which is based in Fayette. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed in a news release.

“After working together for several years on projects across Missouri, we have firsthand experience of the values and reputation that Central Counties Surveying holds and are excited to welcome them to the Own family," said Jerrod Hogan, CEO of Own, in the release. "They take care of their people and clients the same way we do – making them a perfect addition to the team and a natural fit into our culture."

The deal marks Own's 11th office. The company has offices in Missouri, Arkansas and Florida, with plans to open an Overland Park, Kansas, location this summer.

Central Counties Surveying specializes in land surveying, according to the release.

Hogan recently told Springfield Business Journal that the company has roughly 250 employees systemwide and is licensed to practice in 40 states.
